Sierra Moskios
REC Room Coordinator
(she/her)

Sierra was born in Utah until life unexpectedly took her family to the rural Alaskan island of Dutch Harbor, smack dab in the middle of the icy Bering Sea. There as a young teen Sierra was introduced to the world of activism and social work through volunteering at the local women’s shelter, as well as the youth peer-ed team Natural Helpers. Sierra moved to Homer when she was a sophomore, heard about the REC Room, and immediately applied to become one of the sexual health Peer Educators. Sierra worked here for about two years before graduating high school early to explore the big world outside Alaska, finding herself skipping through Utah and New York before pursuing a degree in Psychology Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA. PLU slowly became not the right school and she decided to continue to travel, to Thailand and most recently Colorado to enjoy the snowbird winter life, while still being able to migrate to Homer for summers. Last year she decided to wind down her nomadic lifestyle and settle into Homer once again, and couldn’t be more excited to be back on the REC Room team! Besides work, Sierra enjoys bike rides, swimming in the ocean, Lady Gaga, and advocating for animal & LGBTQIA+ rights.
