FROM KBFPC’S OCTOBER 2022 COMMUNITY NEWSLETTER

Our community is growing.

This month we are highlighting community and collective vision; here at KBFPC and beyond. Lights On Afterschool at the REC Room, the newest staff members to join our team, and the tremendous amount of Pink Flags flying around Homer (and Kenai!) all reflect the vital connections we share. Over the last several months we’ve also welcomed clinic clients and supporters of the entire agency from farther afield than Homer’s city limits; including Seldovia, Soldotna, Kenai, Anchorage, and beyond Alaska. Welcome! We are proud to be part of a growing community that values access to reproductive health care and education on the Kenai Peninsula and collaborates in ways that help all of us thrive. In the coming weeks our neighbors in Seldovia will learn more about how we can support some of your reproductive health needs in the privacy of your own home through mail-out and telemedicine clinical services; the first piece of our new Remote Services Initiative. This model will inform how we can provide confidential reproductive healthcare to other communities. Seldovia, keep an eye out in your mailboxes for more details.

Lights On Afterschool

On Thursday, 10/20 from 4:30 to 6:00 pm, help us celebrate the importance of afterschool programs in Alaska as part of Lights on Afterschool 2022! Community partners, caregivers, and teens are all welcome at the REC Room’s Open House and Art Show for activities and food. Our local event will mirror celebrations across the state. This is a great time to find out what’s next on the Vantastic Adventures schedule and check out the Halloween decorations. See you there!

Meet Our Newest Staff

This summer, we had two new additions to our KBFPC team. We’re honored to have Angie and Kai with us. For their full bios check out kbfpc.org/about/team!

Thank you!

60 local businesses, organizations, and families are flying pink flags during the month of October to help spread awareness about breast cancer and show their support for our clinic’s early detection options.
