I hope you are well.
All of us at KBFPC so appreciate your support, especially in these challenging times. We know Alaskans want access to reproductive healthcare like breast and cervical cancer screenings, birth control, and pregnancy testing and options counseling. That’s why our Homer clinic is open 5 days a week, our outreach event schedule is filling up (read on!), and the team continues to bring their expertise — and low- and no-cost care like STI testing and treatment — on the road to Pop-Up Clinics on the Kenai Peninsula.
In fact, we are expanding our Remote Services by piloting a project with Ninilchik Traditional Council. A KBFPC team member will join NTC medical staff once a month on their mobile clinic rounds to provide reproductive health care for clients with substance use disorder and barriers to accessing healthcare (transportation, etc.).
And as you will see below, there are also multiple options this Spring to support your teen’s understanding of critical health topics like consent, healthy relationships, and how to prevent unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.

In April, a couple of us will be in Washington, DC, to attend the National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association’s Annual Conference and meet with Alaska’s Congressional team. We want to share with them anonymous stories about the positive impact KBFPC services have had on your life or your family’s. Our confidential care helps clients who will be significantly impacted by changes in Medicaid, a decrease in Title X funding, and limitations on access to birth control and other reproductive healthcare. Your real life stories about KBFPC’s impact make a difference.

Impact Stories: We Need Your Help!
Policymakers and funders want to hear real-life stories about how agencies like KBFPC support your health goals. Your anonymous story—from last week or anytime since KBFPC started—whether you share one line or multiple paragraphs, will help us support accessible healthcare and education on the Kenai Peninsula.
Sex Ed – After School
March 24-28
The next session for all middle-school aged teens (12-14) will be March 24-28th, 4-6pm. This FREE, five-day workshop series uses KBFPC’s district-approved curriculum and peer-to-peer education model. Participants will be provided with food and drink each session.
Sex Ed – Saturday
April 5 or April 19
These FREE one-day workshops on April 5 (middle schoolers) or April 19 (high schoolers) are convenient for families with busy after-school activities, who still want access to this unique education opportunity for your teen. Sessions will use KBFPC’s district-approved curriculum and peer-to-peer education model, and participants will be provided with free snacks.
Alaska Impact Alliance: 907 Navigation App
The Alaska Impact Alliance recently launched a new tool to support access to community resources like KBFPC that help all of us survive and thrive, including reproductive and sexual health. “The 907 Navigation App is a free, powerful tool designed to help Alaskans easily find and navigate local resources, social services, and benefit systems. With real-time updates, step-by-step guides, and a suite of helpful features, this app is here to support individuals and families on their journey to access the services they need.”
