FROM KBFPC’S June 2022 COMMUNITY NEWSLETTER
From Our CEO
June is a very full month here at KBFPC and around town. In addition to the onsite services, several staff members are working at events from Anchorage to Homer, including the Alaska Run for Women, Soldotna Pride in the Park, Juneteenth x Homer Pride’s Let Love Grow, and KBBI’s Concert on the Lawn. You’ll see staff from the Clinic and REC team, board members, and volunteers out and about around the Peninsula all summer. Please stop by and say hello!
Check out two important youth projects that launched this month; the new Alaska Teen Query podcast and the refreshed REC Room website. If you’re a parent of a teen or young adult like me, listening to the episodes will give you another perspective on what teens, maybe even your teens, might be curious about.
KBFPC has always hosted fun and unique fundraisers and this summer is no different. You will not want to miss what might be the most important social event of the summer here in Homer; Sip & Shuck for KBFPC and the REC Room at Moose Run Metalsmiths. Events like this are critical to offering the low and no cost services we provide in the clinic and REC Room. Come join the fun and support this work.
See you at the Let Love Grow walk on Saturday!
— Claudia Haines
