The summer solstice is an especially vibrant time around here. Our team of busy bees has been hard at work connecting people across the Kenai Peninsula with affordable and comprehensive reproductive health care. Over the past month, the Clinical team hosted a vasectomy clinic with our a visiting surgical provider, brought care directly to communities through Pop-Up Clinics in Kenai, Nikiski, and Kasilof, and saw growing interest in our in-house rapid STI testing services for chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, HIV, and hep C.
Beyond the clinic walls, our Outreach staff and volunteers have been meeting people where they are – sharing information, answering questions, and creating space for meaningful conversations on topics ranging from menopause to media literacy. Event highlights include: Soldotna Pride, Family Day at the Soldotna Wednesday Market, and the Homer Farmers Market.
Our Education team partnered with Project GRAD to engage local teens in discussions about consent, assertive communication, and healthy relationships. They explored practical skills for navigating conflict, setting boundaries, and ending friendships or romantic relationships with respect and care.
We were also pleased to open our Education Hub to South Peninsula Haven House for a week-long training, supporting their important work and strengthening connections among organizations dedicated to serving our community!

New Service Alert!
An exciting new addition to our work to screen and prevent cervical cancer: KBFPC can now offer HPV vaccination!
Human papillomavirus (HPV) is an infection that can cause cancer of the throat, penis, vagina, vulva, cervix, or anus. When given on schedule, the HPV vaccine prevents 90% of these cancers and provides long-lasting protection.
It’s recommended for everyone starting at age 9, but many people missed out – now’s your chance!
Available at low or no cost for ages 18+ at KBFPC, and strongly recommended for everyone up to age 26.
Clinton Fearon Concert
Clinton Fearon, renowned Jamaica-born reggae pioneer, returns to Homer for an acoustic show! This special one-night-only music event will raise your spirits and soothe the soul.

Proceeds benefit our agency and reproductive healthcare access on the Kenai Peninsula.

Kasilof Resource Fair
Join us at the Kasilof Community Pop-Up Resource Fair on Monday, June 29th from 11 am – 2pm at the Big T Lodge!
The family friendly event will feature local resources, free activities, and onsite mammograms provided by Breast Cancer Detection Center of Alaska.
