Teens teaching teens.
Each school year, KBFPC hires teens ages 14-18 to teach with adult staff, co-lead workshops and activities, and represent our organization in the community. Our Peer Education Model means students get important age-appropriate information about health, relationships, life skills, and resources from other teens like them, and helps increase knowledge and positive learning experiences for young people in general.
These paid positions are part-time, and work responsibilities are scheduled around school hours – usually a few afternoons per week. Extensive training is offered to ensure all Peer Educators are prepared to co-teach a selected curriculum with other KBFPC staff. As a Teen Peer Educator, you will learn how to present information about sexual health, consent and communication, violence prevention, and healthy relationships in a respectful, unbiased manner that encourages all students to explore their personal and family values around these topics.
