Charlotte grew up drinking a lot of tea between cow fields outside Johnson City, Tennessee.  She went on to study in Southwest Virginia at Emory and Henry College, earning bachelor’s degrees in biology and environmental studies, focusing on botany. Afterwards, she applied for a land-management internship that luckily landed her in the great state of Alaska. She has lived and explored here ever since, living in Anchorage for three years and Homer for the last seven. Through work in fields, forests, bed-and-breakfasts, and kitchens, she has grown to love the unique people and flora of the state. Her growing interest in making everyone feel welcome, comfortable, and empowered while they access healthcare drew her towards KBFPC.

While unwinding, Charlotte can be found adding to her list of hobbies, which so far includes knitting, fishkeeping, bonsai-culture, and trying to learn how to throw pottery. Her cats Goose and Blueberry can usually be found nearby. She still drinks far too much tea.
