FROM KBFPC’S August 2022 COMMUNITY NEWSLETTER

From Our CEO

Dear Friends,

We loved seeing so many of you at the first ever Sip & Shuck at Moose Run Metalsmiths! The event and auction combination was a huge financial success and will help offset the operational costs of our clinic, REC Room, Peer Education, and outreach programs. Sip & Shuck was also an opportunity for our community to come together to celebrate the access to reproductive healthcare and sexual health education KBFPC offers. On behalf of everyone at KBFPC, thank you volunteers, donors, and attendees for your contributions!

Now, summer is winding down. College bound teens are scattering, salmon fishermen are returning from an epic season, and the groups of visitors are starting to thin. We wrapped up the summer outreach season with our community education booth at Salmonfest, hosted by staff, volunteers and board members. We visited with hundreds of people from all over the Kenai Peninsula and Alaska. The DIY buttons were a hit with festivalgoers young and old!

In the coming months, we look forward to sharing with you plans in the works to pilot a collaborative remote services project. Funded by Title X, the pilot will test out a variety of delivery methods that meet Alaskans where you are and provide immediate reproductive healthcare where there is currently only limited access. For now, enjoy back to school, the shorter days, and the Fall-like weather.
See you at the polls!
Claudia Haines, CEO
