Anthony Markuson, MD
Surgical Provider
(he/his)

Anthony grew up on the family farm near Chester, Montana. He attended Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA earning a degree in Biology. A plethora of opportunities, including shadowing a Family Physician in his hometown, lead him to understand that practicing medicine is his vocation. He matriculated at the University of Washington School of Medicine as a Targeted Rural Underserved Scholar. Service-learning was an essential component, and he enjoying working with vulnerable populations including LGBTQ, underserved, HIV+, and those suffering from homelessness.
He found these attributes in the high volume, procedural focused Family Medicine Residency of Idaho in 2018 in the Magic Valley RTT and was pleased to serve the Boise, Twin Falls, and Jerome communities for three years where he trained in no-touch and microsurgical vasectomy from experienced urologists and family physicians. Next, he pursued a surgical obstetrics fellowship to continue honing surgical skills.
Anthony now calls Alaska home and enjoys all it has to offer. When not working, you’ll find him fishing, skiing, biking, hiking and more! Anthony looks forward to working with Kachemak Bay Family Planning Clinic as we take excellent care of patients.
